Regionals, Weston, Paddy and more for RCPB!

This weekend the team were once again out for more race-days up and down the country.

Over in Ireland at the Paddy Piston Race Chris Lovell (E-Buggy), Milan Dragojlovic, Si White, Alex Page, Ben Billing, Gary Gregory and John Gorman (nitro) enjoying the great annual event that is PPR. Hosted at BADMCC the track, facilities and the hospitality are second to none – pictured above. All of the nitro/electric are mixed in for the qualifiers and so after all qualifying rounds were done it was Milan Dragojlovic and his Ninja powered Kyosho MP9 TKI4 that was top of the RCPB pile. He was a hugely impressive 4th overall, after some very quick times. Ben was next up in 14th and his Sworkz/nova rossi combo looking as consistent ass always. Chris Lovell and Gary Gregory were tied on the same points but Chris and his RC Concepts powered Mugen MBX7R Eco got 19th and Gary and his Ielasi Tuned/Radiosistemi combo 20th overall. Alex and his Kyosho after some problems early in qualifying got 31st, John Gorman also Kyosho ended up 40th and Si driving Mugen was 50th (pictured below), A very good performance by all the team. Due to the gloomy bad weather most of the finals were not run, but a good time was had by all, the track looked awesome, just a shame the rain came.

At the new Coventry 1/10th track it was time for the 1/10th boys to show us how its done in the West Mids Regional's.

The young guns were at it again Felix De Hamel (car pictured above)and Dom Nunn both managed the A and finished a very fine 9th and 8th respectively. The B final (pictured below) also saw Team Boss Chris Ely and Tommy Hall both running their XRAY cars, Chris managed a very good 6th but Tommy stormed to a fine 2nd place. Jamie also had a fantastic day ended up 2nd in the C, he and his xray looking good as always. A great day at the regional's for the team.

At Sumner ponds model show Ashley Evans took the TQ in all 4 rounds and was the only person to get 14laps in, he also won both finals by lap his mugen mbx7r Eco running spot on all day. (Pictured below)

Last but not least it was NitroXcross Weston Par and a few more of the 1/8th team were in attendance, Team Boss Matt Box, Si Davies, Elliot Jones, Rich Price and Steve Shakespeare. Two days of races on the old school dirt track and the famous Weston Park Model air show.
On Saturday In a field of nearly 90 drivers Rich Price managed a 55th despite early problems, Elliot just pipped him in 53rd, Mattt box who was having radio problems was 28th and Top RCPB driver was Steve who was a very impressive 8th after some great runs in qualifying. Elliot and Rich were up first in the E final – both running Sworkz and both had a good go at the bump. Rich climbed from 7th to take 4th, narrowly missing the final bump spot and Elliot drove a blinder, from 5th to a very impressive 2nd place and onto the D final. His pace continued, with some quality lap times and he finished a very respectable 12th.
In the C final we had Team boss Matt Box and his Ielasi Tuned powered Kyosho and his ability earned him a great first after a good on track battle, he continued his run by getting from the back of the grid to a bump but a problem saw him drop back down the field to a 12th place finish. Steve Shakespeare was the driver of the day, he and his Elliot Boots edition Reds engine sounded awesome as he powered through the field in the A final. From 8th to a podium in a great final with some very good drivers. Great drive by Shakey, his TKI4 is now bedded in and dialed - pictured below!

On Sunday Steve decided to run Ebuggy as well, and it was a great decision, he got 2nd in 3 rounds clinching the 2nd place grid slot. He couldn't turn it in to a podium as a electrical issue meant he returned to the pits early but a pretty god debut for the kyosho ebuggy! He also managed to be the top RCPB driver again in Nitro, with a brilliant 4th overall. Matt was next in 14th, Rich 28th, Elliot 31st and Si 43rd. Simon was first up in the finals in the D, he started 10th and a mega consistent run gave him 9th with his Radiosistemi. The rain came in the C final and Rich and Elliot with their sworkz struggled on a very slippy awkward track, the weather got the better of Rich who retired but Elliot went on to battle the elements and finished 10th.
Matt was in the B, he had a great start but the heavy rain took its toll, he and his car struggled on to battle for the bump and he just missed out finishing 4th, only a few seconds behind 3rd. In the A final Steve was one of many retirees and finished 14th – but still the TOP RCPB driver of the day!
Next week its 1/10th regional's and Nitro nationals plus RCPB drivers at local club events.
