GRP TYRES
GRP tyres are a relatively new arrival to the UK 1/8 buggy scene but have already made a significant impact at the highest level. Multiple UK and European champion Elliott Boots won Round 1 of the UK Nationals at Herts on GRP, with Lewis Jones taking third on the same rubber.
Made in Italy, GRP offer competition-level performance across a range of surfaces and conditions — at £10 per pair they're also excellent value, with pre-glued options available for those who want to bolt on and go.
The Patterns
- Flexy — connected flexible tread for oiled clay and high-grip outdoor circuits. The go-to choice at Herts and Brookthorpe once the track has grooved in
- Triky — open aggressive tread for dusty and loose surfaces, or when the line isn't fully established. Also very fast at Shrewsbury
- Micro — works particularly well at multi-surface outdoor tracks like Shrewsbury in S25 and S35 compounds
- Block — knobby all-round tread for clay and dirt
Compounds
- N25 Super Soft / N35 Soft — for oiled clay and high-grip outdoor surfaces
- S25 Super Soft / S35 Soft — for outdoor dirt and loose surfaces
