1/10th Nationals and Euro B Championships for RCPB

This weekend was the start of a hectic few weeks at RCPB with lots of racing up and down the country and across Europe.
Felix de Hamel and his Schumacher’s attended the EPR (Eden Park Raceway) for 1/10th 2wd/4wd nationals. The fantastic track looking “slightly” damp in the picture below!
On Saturday it was 2wd and at the end of 4 rounds of qualifying he was a very impressive 43rd overall. A great 4th in Under 16! This put him starting 3rd in the E final in a very tough field of drivers and he made it stick and with a fantastic drive claimed 3rd place. A great drive!
On Sunday it was 4wd and he was exceptionally consistent managing a very good 26th in round 3. Unfortunately due to the weather conditions the day was called off after 3rds leaving Felix 33rd. Keep your eyes on this young man as he is defiantly one to watch.

Over in Portugal for the European B Championships we had Milan Dragojlovic, Gary Gregory and Steve Shakespeare not only representing RCPB but also Great Britain! (pictured with the rest of the team below)
They were 3 of the 7 man team. After 4 gruelling rounds of qualifying Gary Gregory and his Ielasi Tuned Powered RR8 V2 managed a very good 79th from a field of over 105 racers. Steve Shakespeare and his New Kyosho MP9 TKI4 would end up 60th after some really good qualifying results in the early rounds. Milan also running his new TKI4 was top of the crop, not only for RCPB but for Team GB as well with a massively impressive top ten run in one round to put him 18th overall.
The lads were hugely competitive on an unknown track in changeable conditions with fierce competition but all excelled in the finals. Gary Started 8th on the grid in the A 1/32, and he had a great start to the race, fighting up front for a bump when an incident with a back marker put him back down the field, he finished in 8th, a great run with his new 7 port Ielais Tuned engine, when fully bedded in, it’s going to be rapid in the his RR8.
Steve was up next starting 6th in the B 1/16 final. He also had a fantastic start, battling at the sharp end for a good while during the race. He went on to finish a great 8th – his Reds powered TKI4 looked awesome as always. (picture below in mid flight top right)
Milan just missed out on a direct semi final place and started pole in the B ¼. He nailed it, his new colours (by bandicoot bodies) blazing a trail and he went on to clinch 2nd place by over 10s and bumped up to the Semi. He drove an amazing Semi, but an incident led him to return to the pits just before the buzzer. He still managed to be top finishing Brit and ranked 21st overall in the event. A great achievement, and massively impressive with a new car, never been tested before, a new fuel and on a track he had never seen before. (car pictured below).
Well done to all the guys in the GB team and especially to the Team RCPB boys.
Next stop for some of the guys is Paddy Piston and some more at Weston Park as well as a few other meetings so more reports to follow next week. Remember all of the products/cars etc that the guys use are available through RCPB.
