Some of the RCPB 1/10th team were representing at the 1/10th Nationals this weekend at Telford Model Car Club. We had Schumacher drivers, Mark Fletcher and Felix De Hamel and Xray drivers Dom Nunn, Jamie Hall and Tommy Hall doing the team proud.
Felix was the top of the pile after 2wd qualifying on Saturday, he stood 32nd, Dom 45th and Mark 47th, Jamie 54th and Tommy 58th with some very impressive driving by all in a field of over 110 drivers. Tommy and Jamie were in the F final and both drove extremely well coming in 4th and 5th respectively. In the E final was Mark and Dom. Dom was on fire and finished 3rd, Mark came home 9th. Felix was in the D final and starting from 2nd, he had a good start and continued his great run of form to come home a brilliant 7th.
In 4wd on Sunday, Dom was well and truly in his element, he put in some messily impressive times with a huge 10th in the last round, after qualifying he was 16th. Felix was 43rd and Mark 51st just ahead of Tommy in 54th and Jamie in 59th. Another awesome performance by the team in qualifying! Dom's Car pictured below ready to go!
Jamie. Tommy and Fletch were in the F final, Mark started on pole and went on to win by about half a lap, Jamie finished 5th and Tommy 9th. Well done guys, a great final! Felix was in the E final and starting 3rd, he went on to gain a place from the start and finished 2nd. Dom was in the B final, and finished the TOP F3 driver of the day in 7th. A great drive for all especially Dom. Massive well done young man.
On Saturday it was Ledbury Club Series and Chris Lovell, Ben Billing and Si Davies were representing us in 1/8th Nitro. Si Davies and his Radiosistemi qualified in a very good 12th with Chris Lovell and his Alpha Dragon powered Mugen up in 6th and the Nova/Sworkz combo of Ben in a perfect 1st, taking the TQ by just 0.5s.
Si finished 8th in the B final after a small problem. Ben and Chris were in the A and what a race they both had. Bens race was sublime and he took the win by over 15s. Chris starting 6th, and only the 2nd time out with his MBX7R nitro he showed his fantastic pace and race ability by storming through the field to take 3rd and his first A final Podium in Nitro. Well done guys – a double podium for the team!
Down at Pembrey Circuit in south Wales on Sunday we had a few of the team at the EBuggy/Truggy Nationals. Gary Gregory and his Radiosistemi E-buggy and Chris Lovell with his Mugen MBX7R Eco were representing the team. Chris and Gary both did well in quail and got themselves into the B final. Gary had a problem early on and had to retire but Chris for the second time in a weekend was heading for the A final, He took the win from 4th on the grid with a great drive. He then continued his run of great form by going from 11th to 8th in a very competitive A final. So another good race day for the team!
At Herts Kong McKenzie took his Mugen out for a spin, He qualified well getting in the B final, and a very good final took the win and bump into the A. He had a problem in the A but still had a fantastic day overall.
Well done to all the guys and gals from the team who raced the previous few weekends , and we hope the great racing continues for the team!
As always all of the kit the guys use is available from RCPB, keep an eye on facebook for current news and deals. EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!
