Great result for young Felix!

We have just received a race report from young RCPB 1/10 Driver Felix De Hamel. Felix has made some real improvements in 2014 and I am sure he will be one to watch in 2015!
Report from the Christmas meet as Oswestry 28/12/14
The track was tight and technical with a few great features including a wall ride and a corner tabletop. The layout provided some great close racing, and since the heats were 6 minutes long, a clean, consistent run was important. From round one it was clear to see who the fastest were in both 2wd and 4wd, with Nick Oliver putting in a great run to go fastest, followed by Mike Dean, Mark Brocklebank, Ashley Williams and RC-Pitbox driver Felix de Hamel rounding out the top 5. In 4wd, Tony Bishop put in a fast run to go top, followed by Rob Shaw and Mark Brocklebank in third. On to round 2, and the times would stay almost identical, the only change being in 2wd where Felix de Hamel moved up to 4th in round ahead of Ashley Williams. Round 3 for 2wd was pretty chaotic as no-one in the top 2 heats improved, so the order remained the same. It also remained the same in 4wd with Tony Bishop still fastest, with Rob Shaw second and Mark Brocklebank third. Round 4 was the last chance for everyone to improve, something that was a little difficult in my heat as someone had introduced a monster truck, which was far from ideal. Unfortunately during round 4 Tony Bishop broke a diff outdrive on his car, which ended his day. Mike dean also broke something that he couldn't fix, meaning that he also could not take part any further. This meant that Rob Shaw got TQ and pole for the 4wd A, followed by Mark Brocklebank and Rob Jones. The 2wd A final lined up as follows-Mark Brocklebank, Ashley Williams, Felix de Hamel, Neil Oliver and Adam Blackburn. The finals would be run over 2 legs, so everyone was in with a shot at a decent result. Straight from the start of the 4wd A, Rob Shaw had a great race, bringing the car home to an excellent win in the first leg by two laps. The pattern was repeated in the second leg, when he won again by a large margin. A great result for Rob. The 2wd A final was certainly very fun to watch-In the first leg pole man Mark Brocklebank got away from second and third placed Ashley Williams and Felix de Hamel, leaving them to fight it out for second place. They traded places, and then Ashley got ahead by 2 seconds, only for Felix to close him down again and keep the pressure on. Felix was right under Ashley's wing on the last lap, but then a small mistake by Felix allowed Ashley to take second place from Felix in third. The second leg began, and right at the first corner pole man Mark and second place Ashley got in a tangle, allowing Felix to nip through into the lead. By the time everyone had been marshalled, Felix had a lead of around 5 seconds. He continued to push and had the lead up to 6 seconds, and he then went on to drive a consistent race, bringing his car home to take the win in the second leg. Mark Brocklebank came home in second. This result meant that Mark took the 2wd meeting by one point from Felix in second and Ashley in third. Thanks to Oswestry for a great meeting.
