NitroXCross returns!

This weekend saw the return of Nitro X Cross, and the RCPB boys and girls braved the weather for a very wet and muddy round at ESBRC Grass/Dirt track situated just outside of Shrewsbury.
The snowy/icy conditions made for an interesting but hard race-day with difficult conditions and lots of time needed for cleaning, but it never put the guys off with Simon Davies, Matt Box, Milan Dragojlovic, Andy Prosser, Ben Billing, Alex Page and Gary Gregory were in nitro class and Chris Lovell in the electric.
In Electric Chris managed some very good times and despite the best efforts of the chasing pack managed another TQ, the 3rd with his new MBX7r Eco in a row. He managed to get to “grips” with the conditions and managed to pull out some very good times, eventually taking the top grid slot on time only of 3 seconds.
In Nitro Gary and Andy both having good runs with their RR8s managed decent qualifying but had to pull out of the finals which left Milan, Matt, Alex, Ben and Simon. Simon had a great day with his Radiosistemi despite his car getting a little muddy on the track and qualified 9th in the A final. Check out his and fellow RR8 drivers Carl O’Conners cars before and after a qualifying run!
Milan, Matt, Ben and Alex also managed a place in the A final. With Milan and Matt in the MP9’s at the top of the pack, Milan in 1st on the grid and Matt in 3rd, Ben and Alex were just behind in 5th and 7th respectively. So from cars in the eventual A final, 5 were from RCPB. Matts car below being cleaned after qualifying, ready for the battle in the final.
Onto the finals and in muddy conditions it was going to be hard work. Chris Lovell managed a great start in the E-Buggy final but the difficult marshalling conditions meant he slipped back into second and finished in that place even after a good battle with the eventual winner Stuart Harlow but only by a few seconds. Another very good drive by Chris and his MBX7R Eco!
The A Final was going to be tough going but the RCPB crew did us proud. Milan was the star of the show and had a great battle with Jon Howells for the top spot, eventually finishing a very impressive 2nd. Alex and Ben also had great races, Alex battling through the pack with his Reds Powered MP9 to finish a close 4th from Ben in 5th with his Nova Rossi powered Sworkz Evo 2. Matt finished a good 7th overall and Simon did himself and the team proud with one of the best finishes yet of 11th.
A challenging but great day for the RCPB guys and gals and some good drives despite the great British weather!
As always all of the gear the guys use is available through RC Pit box, and until next time EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT.
